Is your community school right for your child?

Hello, My name is Galeet BenZion.  I am a mother of two, a long-time educator, a reading teacher, a researcher, and a published author.  When my kids were little, I chose where I lived based on the reputation and reviews of local schools.  I didn’t know that these reviews were not based on substantive curriculum or classroom research-based instructional practices.  For example, I had no idea that parents were not told their children need additional instructional time outside of school in reading and math.  I also didn’t realize that because of internal issues,

Differentiated Instruction, a well-known and recommended practice in diverse schools, was not implemented.  As a result, the academic and emotional needs of both high-flying students and striving students were not met.  It is this life experience that taught me that parents should be asking specific questions to determine if your local school is right for your child’s needs, especially if your child is in third grade or higher.  Contact us to discuss your concerns (including the optional Individual Student Alternative Educational Plan which is available in Virginia) and ask for a consultation.
